About Jacob's Ladder

Jacob’s Ladder, The Canadian Foundation for the Control of Neurodegenerative Disease is a charitable organization founded in 1998, which aims to benefit children like Jacob Schwartz and reduce the occurrences of neurodegenerative disease in the future. A group of dedicated business and community leaders, doctors, researchers and concerned parents came together to form this organization, which financially assists the following efforts:

• Research to discover and develop therapy and diagnosis for neurodegenerative diseases.
• Genetic screening in Canada for parents and parents-to-be
• To facilitate educating medical personnel and the public about rare genetic diseases, such as Canavan disease, and the screening that is available
